Well at Kitui
In July of 2024, Kitui hosted their Prayer Day event and kicked off fundraising for their well project. The Kitui community raised $6000 during their event! We praise the Lord for this provision and for the generosity of the Kitui community. We would like to highlight the shared ownership of this project and praise the Lord that Kitui Baby Home has sponsors in both Kenya and the US that are supportive of their mission in caring for vulnerable children. This project was fully funded and we are excited to see the end result!
The drilling company initially drilled down 170 meters without finding water. The decision was made to continue drilling and after drilling an additional 50 meters, they successfully located a good, sustainable water source! A pump and water tower installation will complete the project by May 2025. We are so grateful for this success and are thankful for the collaboration between the Kitui community and our 58ten community to make this project possible. Having a reliable water source will be a great blessing to the staff and babies every day!
Playground at Mulango
In 2024, Mulango successfully installed a brand-new playground, and it’s already become a favorite spot for the children at the home. The joy on their faces and the laughter that fills the air as they play, explore, and connect with each other has been truly heartwarming. We’re so grateful to see how much the kids are enjoying it, and we’re proud to be part of something that brings so much happiness and energy to their everyday lives!
THANK YOU!
Future Projects
Nurse Station at Kitui
There is a significant need for healthcare support within the Kitui community. In response, we are prayerfully exploring the possibility of establishing a Nurse Station at Kitui Baby Home. This station would allow qualified nursing staff to care for sick and vulnerable babies living at the home, while also extending medical support to infants and families throughout the surrounding community. Beyond addressing urgent physical needs, this initiative would also open meaningful doors to share the hope of the gospel with those we serve.
